ParthasarathyLab

           Biophysics & Soft Condensed Matter

How do mechanics and thermodynamics guide the behavior of biological materials, especially membranes and communities of cells?

How do soft materials and complex fluids self-organize?

Can we use bio-molecules to create new sorts of complex materials?

We explore these issues by designing a wide range of experiments using many different tools and techniques, with special emphasis on optical microscopy -- see the Research page for more information (and a few pictures).  "We" means Prof. Raghuveer Parthasarathy graduate students, undergraduate students, and postdocs. The lab is located in 372 and 363 Willamette Hall, at the University of Oregon.
